First Post

  1. The image appears to be a party or gathering, and the woman probably did not even know that her picture was being taken at the time it was taken. She looks like she was laughing at somebody while there was a photographer taking pictures of this event. I don’t see many objects except for something that looks like decorations, and a table in the background. There is also a person behind the woman.  The woman is definitely in the foreground, the middle ground objects or person would be in the middle ground, and the background would be the room. If I were to give this photo a title I’d call it “a time for laughs”.
  2. The observer is in front of her from a slight distance.  The light is hitting the woman directly in the face. From the chopped image, I only see so much of what the general crowd or photographer at this occasion would see.  I’m at the front of the participant. I’d say that I’m on somewhat on the same plane as the subjects as I can tell that there are at an entertainment event.
  3. The use of the light conveys a good time. The mood is exciting, from the chopped image, it appears that the woman is leaning into a conversation, laughing at something that was said.  The middle ground and the background do not do much to show the mood of this picture, as there is not much you can see past the woman in the foreground.
  4. I believe that the point being made in this picture is that it’s okay to laugh. Laughter is the most powerful medicine. The audience walks away with a reminder that laughter is a healthy part of life.

  1. Now that I see the complete image, I can say that this was a Mardi Gras ball. The objects are towels that the participalnts are holding, as well as something really colorful in the background that I cannot make out. Also it appears as if there is something on the floor, the way that the pictuer was taken, however, it’s probably someone sitting down. I see two objects that look to be hats, they are gray/black and a white one.  I don’t believe that there is a foreground in this picture, unless you count the dancing. The middle ground is the room, and the background or general feel is a party. My title would be “a time to dance” because this photo is a group of adults enjoying a line dance.
  2. The observer is to the left of the woman smilling and slightly to the right of the woman with the black dress. Since I was not at this occasion, I still cannot see 100% of what the participants would see, but I do see enough to form a conclusion of what the photo is about. I am at a distance, to the side of the subjects.
  3. The mood of this photo is excitement. The light in the background serves as the complement to the middle ground, background, and body language. The body language illustrates a crowd of adults enjoying a break from other responsibilities.
  4. The message that is being conveyed is that it’s okay to relax. Sometimes, we need to take a break from our busy schedules and just enjoy ourselves. The “take away” would be the observer walking away feeling energized or amped up.
